The Leatherback Sea Turtle, sometimes called the Lute turtle or Leathery Turtle or simply the Luth, is the largest of all living turtles and is the fourth-heaviest modern reptile behind three crocodilians. It is the only living in the species genus Dermochelys.

When the mother lays her eggs she leaves them to grow by themselves.

They are called Leatherback Turtles because of the way there shells look.

The Leatherback Turtle prefer deep, open water and unlike the other turtle species, they can sustain the colder temperatures of the polar and subpolar regions they have been recorded in the Arctic.

Leatherback turtles eat Jellyfish, soft shelled animals.

Leatherback turtles food type is Gelatinivore.
